Position: Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

Setting: Outpatient

Location: Bellaire, TX

Availability:  32 hours a week Full-time or Part-time

Job Overview & Work Site:

What we treat. 

Our patient population primarily consists of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions. We carry a blended non-surgical and post-operative orthopedic caseload with a great mix of sport-specific rehab, joint and spine management. In addition to our outpatient orthopedic focus, we are a premier treatment provider for pediatric and adult patients with developmental, neurologic, vestibular, and balance conditions. 

How we do it. 

We continue to evaluate and treat primarily one-on-one and understand how valuable time is with patients so they can receive the best care available. We work with a cohesive, dedicated group of physical, occupational, and speech therapists, allowing each patient to receive all the needed services in one location. Session lengths are tailored to the patient's needs, ranging from 30 to 75 minutes. 

We come alongside our therapists during their professional growth journey, offering specialty certifications and individualized professional development. We have mentorship opportunities available for all interested applicants.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Implement plans of care tailored to the individual patient 

Maintain timely and quality documentation as per legal regulations 

Provide quality and evidence-based care to all patients 

Supervise and offer direction to PTA students, interns, and volunteers 

Assist the clinic manager with day-to-day operations 

Maintain proper scheduling of patients for maximum treatment efficiency 

Provide education to patients and caregivers 

Maintain an attitude of flexibility with additional duties as assigned from time to time 

Follow all safety and ethical practice guidelines as indicated in the employee handbook 

Manage an 8-hour schedule with at least 12 patients/day 

Work as a Clinical Instructor for incoming students 

Attend several continuing education classes/per year and apply knowledge to clinical practice

License & Experience:

License and Experience 

Requirements for this position include the following: 

Graduate from an accredited physical therapist assistant program 

Active state physical therapist assistant license 

Preferred minimum one (1) year of physical therapy experience; highly qualified new graduates will be considered 

Preferred experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting 

Ideally, have manual therapy and/or Sahrmann Movement Impairment Syndrome experience 

Professional Development:

At Therapy SPOT, there are mentorship opportunities for various treatment areas, including orthopedics, sports, neurological, pediatrics, vestibular, oncological therapies, ultrasound imaging, dry needling, manual therapy, and pain science. 

Therapists also have access to business mentorship and will learn how to facilitate efficient treatment, safety, billing, and compliance within the facility.
