Our Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Biomedical Senior Associate for our Practice in Menlo Park, CA. In this role you will work as part of a team to solve difficult problems for our clients in the biomedical engineering space.  

You will be responsible for:

Working within cross-functional teams to execute projects related to failure analysis and engineering analysis of orthopedic, spinal, cardiovascular, drug delivery and diagnostic medical devices

Developing customized mechanical test set-ups to evaluate medical devices, consumer wearables and other products

Developing and execute finite element analysis and Multiphysics simulations for product and device evaluation

Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and testing on the behalf of multinational medical device companies for the FDA and consulting in intellectual property and product liability litigation

Marketing the group’s technical capabilities to clients and the scientific community

Speaking on technical issues at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed literature

Developing additional expertise and gaining additional industry exposure through our unique technical consulting services

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field

Familiarity with finite element and multiphysics analyses using ABAQUS, ANSYS, COMSOL or equivalent software packages

Expertise with customized mechanical testing, including experience with testing animal or human tissue

Specialized knowledge in solid mechanics, computational mechanics, fracture mechanics, or damage mechanics

Proficiency with Matlab, Python or other processing tools

Relevant industry or post-doc experience desirable

Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

This is a Menlo Park, CA position. The successful applicant must live in (or be willing to relocate to) the Menlo Park, CA area AND be enthusiastic about regularly working in the office

Compensation:

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
