Overview:

Performs ultrasound studies in a clinical environment, including abdominal, vaginal, and OBGYN exams. Have clear understanding of image formation and display. Have a clear understanding of fetal growth and development, as well as the basics of pelvic anatomy. Demonstrate skills and ability to locate normal anatomical and fetal abnormalities. Tech will be able to provide correct fetal measurements and history. Tech is responsible for scheduling review, appropriately documenting for correct charge entry, and compassionate communication with patients. Tech will be responsible for exam set-up, physician assistance, patient care, and operation of all department equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Graduate of formal education and training in Ultrasound Technology program. Must be registered (ARDMS) member or eligible with OB/GYN certifications. Nuchal translucency (NT) and CLEAR certifications required within one year of hire. Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of diagnostic equipment. Those hired after one year of graduation must complete certification within six months. Minimum two years� experience preferred.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

Employees in this position:

Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose

NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Must be registered (ARDMS) member or eligible with OB/GYN certifications. Nuchal translucency (NT) and CLEAR certifications required within one year of hire. Those hired after one year of graduation must complete certification within six months. Minimum two years� experience preferred. Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first ninety days of employment. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR). BLS certification must be secured through the AHA or Red Cross.
