What we are looking for:
SCS Engineers is looking for a summer 2025 intern for our Orlando, FL office. SCS's goal is to provide a student intern with valuable technical and engineering business experience through our diverse range of projects for the clients we serve. Also, we believe this opportunity provides a student intern the ability to explore the beginnings of their own career path.
As an intern, you may work with us on landfill and landfill gas permitting, design and construction, as well as other solid waste projects. Other projects we will require support on include soil and groundwater remediation, brownfield redevelopment, site development, and sustainability projects.
You will work 40 hours per week typically. The paid internship will start in May/June 2025 and end in August/September 2025. Your exact start and end date will be determined to fit with your school schedule.
How you can make an impact:
You will contribute to our projects by assisting SCS project teams with the following tasks:
Data review
Reporting and calculation preparation
CAD drafting
Design document development
Construction observation and documentation
Environmental and construction materials sample collection
Laboratory data management and review
Surveying
Other in-house functions
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, civil, environmental or geological engineering and graduating by June 2027 required
Must be willing to live in the Orlando area for Summer 2025 (housing will not be provided)
AutoCAD experience in school or work required
Must be proficient in Excel and Word
Able to work independently, but also must be a team player
Previous leadership experience required
Strong written and verbal communication
Great attention to detail and solid judgment
Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required
Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the SCS office required
Pay Range:
USD $18.00 - USD $23.00 /Hr.
