Overview:
Medical Lab Technician
$3,000 Sign-on Bonus for Experienced Technicians
Full time, 72 hours per pay period, Night shift
12-hour shifts from 6pm-6am
Fort Loudoun Medical Center is equipped with a team of more than 200 doctors in more than 29 specialty areas. Our 87,000-square-foot hospital features advanced technology, including state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Diagnostic X-Rays and Women’s Imaging Services, as well as Nuclear Medicine technology unique to our surrounding counties. Position Summary:
The MLT performs routine and specialized clinical lab tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by physicians.

Responsibilities:
Performs all routine and specialized lab tests trained for as assigned.
Runs, maintains and or repairs laboratory equipment.
Performs and documents quality control samples in assigned work area.
Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment, glassware and instruments.
Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains according to standard formulas and procedures.
Answers phones, responds to physician inquiries regarding lab results.
Maintains required records, reports, statistics, logs, files to comply with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
Performs all functions of a Sr. lab assistant as required.
Receives or collects specimens; organizes and prioritizes work duties. Identifies and labels specimens.
Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include therapeutic and diagnostic testing according to the age-specific needs of the population served (from newborn to geriatric).
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
None. Experience in Blood Bank, Microbiology set-up, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis preferred.
Licensure Requirement:
Must have and maintain Tennessee State medical lab technician licensures.
