Exciting Opportunity at MSK:
The Diagnostic Molecular Genetics Laboratory (DMG) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has been providing MSK patients and their families with genetic testing for hereditary cancer susceptibilities. Germline testing is an increasingly vital component of the work we do in MSKCC.
We are looking for a Pathology Office Coordinator to join our team!
Role Overview:
Provide administrative and clerical support to the attendings of the Diagnostic Molecular Genetics (DMG) Laboratory
Complete case transcription and order triage for the Diagnostic Molecular Genetics (DMG) Laboratory
Assist in compiling data for the preparation of manuscripts for publication
Research and compile data from the pathology computer systems and various libraries for presentation at conferences
Prepare correspondence, charts, or other narrative and statistical materials using the Microsoft Office Suite
Provide telephone coverage using the correct techniques and procedures when receiving and making calls
Contact physicians in accordance with study requirements to obtain and compile data for the preparation of manuscripts for publication
Maintain spreadsheets and databases for studies
Coordinating and accessioning for Diagnostic Molecular Genetics (DMG) Laboratory, receiving pathology materials.
Key Qualifications:
Experience working in a lab or medical/hospital setting
Microsoft Office Suite expertise; familiarity with databases and research materials
Excellent Excel skills
2-4 years of relevant experience
Core Skills:
Dedicated to providing outstanding service, producing high quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of partnership and continuous improvement
Able to work effectively in an energizing environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond to changing priorities
Capable of performing clerical and data analysis tasks with a high degree of accuracy and setting priorities to see projects through completion
Eager to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with high energy and passion
An independent worker who is also a collaborative team member
