NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Staff to Senior Staff Level Engineering Geologist in our Ventura, CA office. The Ventura office provides consulting engineering services which include, conventional geotechnical services and construction materials testing services, as well as, advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Our client base is in both the commercial and public sectors.  You will be working with our experienced, senior level team both in the office and out in the field.

Responsibilities:

Perform geotechnical exploration including field mapping, drilling, and trenching for various geotechnical studies.

Perform field observation and testing on grading and construction projects, including field density testing and concrete sampling and testing.

Assist in geotechnical report preparation including exploration logs, map and cross section preparation, geotechnical analyses, and report writing.

Perform miscellaneous field, office and laboratory duties in support of geotechnical studies and construction materials testing projects.

Qualifications:

Education/Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have experience with public works and transportation projects.

BS Geology / Geological Sciences (MS preferred)

1-4 yrs professional experience preferred.  Position will reflect number of years of experience.

Certifications/Licenses:

CA Geologist-In-Training or Certified Engineering Geologist

LA Deputy Grading Inspector preferred, not required

Nuclear Gauge certification preferred, not required

ACI Concrete Technician preferred, not required

The pay range for this California position is $50,000- $80,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
