RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities:

River View Health has an opening for an On-call Patient Access Representative - Float. The position will train to work in multiple locations and hours will be flexible hours to cover staffing gaps, vacations, and sick calls. The position will work a weekend rotation in the Emergency Department. 

The Patient Access Representative:

Answers phones and schedules patients.

Greets and registers patients while collecting and accurately entering all information required for visit.

Communicates clearly and effectively with patients and families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies.

Performs insurance verification either real time or manual verification for eligibility.

Performs point of service, collection of co-pays and other patient liability..

Obtains signatures for all necessary documents.

Safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.

This position will be cross trained to the Emergency Department for Patient Access responsibilities in that area when needed.

Salary range is $20.15 - $28.22 per hour and starting wage is dependent on experience and shift differential is paid for working evening or night shifts.  

Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience is required.

Experience in Patient Access and/or Epic is preferred.

Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance preferred.

Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.

Positive personality and teamwork at all times are expected.
