Responsibilities:
Position Summary
Responsible for performing a variety of duties such as maintaining the general ledger, reviewing financial statements with State leaders, preparing financial reports, assisting with the audit and budgeting process, and reconciling accounts monthly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Organize and update financial records
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Work on special projects as needed
Record bank deposits in accounting system
Assist with pulling documents for the annual audit or grant audits
Perform general ledger account reconciliations
Posting monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Performs monthly activities for grant accounting
Completes various state filings as assigned
Will be a part of the budgeting process each year
Prepare and file cost reports as needed
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
5+ years of accounting experience required, preferably 2-3 years’ experience in public accounting
Already has required hours to sit for CPA exam, is currently pursing CPA exam, or already has CPA license
Proficient in Microsoft excel and word
Strong Understanding of GAAP
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple assignments/projects simultaneously
Must work well in a team environment
Experience in Workday and Evolv systems, preferred
Works efficiently and manages time well
