About the role:
Our client, a top-tier UK house builder, is renowned for delivering high-quality homes and innovative residential developments. With a focus on large-scale projects in South Yorkshire, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team at their luxury head office. This role offers hybrid working, allowing for 2 days working from home, with the remaining days spent either on-site or at the office. The projects range from 50 to 250 unit developments, providing the opportunity to lead high-profile schemes.

You will report directly to the Commercial Director, playing a key role in the financial management of these developments.

The Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial elements of residential developments in South Yorkshire. You will lead cost management, ensure compliance with JCT contracts, and work closely with the commercial and site teams to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage cost control and value engineering across multiple large-scale residential projects

* Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost plans for developments ranging from 50 to 250 units

* Lead procurement processes, negotiate contracts, and manage sub-contractors

* Ensure full compliance with JCT contracts and legal frameworks

* Manage valuations, payments, variations, and financial tracking for all projects

* Provide detailed financial reporting to the Commercial Director

Requirements:

* Extensive experience in the housing sector

* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and a proven track record of managing large projects

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

* Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills

* Ability to lead and manage residential projects from start to finish

* Excellent communication and leadership abilities

* Professional membership (RICS) is preferred but not essential
