THE BUSINESS

Our client who are based across the UK are seeking an operations administrator who will be based in Chester Le Street. You will be responsible for carrying out administrative tasks to ensure a smooth and effective running of the branch. As part of your role you’ll be responding to all customer enquiries; face to face, by phone and via email, promptly and professionally.

THE ROLE

Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of all company products, keeping up to date with new arrivals.
Prepare and follow up on hire and sale quotations to secure business.
Complete paperwork on time to ensure smooth month-end procedures.
Manage petty cash, stationery, and purchase orders promptly; book materials into stock per company policy.
Arrange efficient transport for material collection and delivery.
Operate communication equipment efficiently and ensure accurate documentation.
Encourage customers to use the full range of company products and services.
Complete hire contracts and delivery/collection notes.
Ensure company procedures for bad debts and credit control are followed.
Maintain Health & Safety standards for yourself, colleagues, customers, and the public.
Handle ad hoc projects as needed.

THE PERSON

Previous customer experience
Confident telephone skills
Proficient in Microsoft Software i.e. Excel, Outlook
Excellent verbal and written skills
Must have a minimum of 1 year’s relevant administrative experience, gained in the construction industry, or similar, or a customer service environment
Process driven
Ability to work in a complex and fast-paced environment
Team player
Hands on approach
