Our client has an amazing opportunity for an Industrial Automation Engineer / Technician. The successful candidate will help design, develop and maintain the market leading solutions that our client is known for.
You will help install, commission, and maintain process control instruments along with their respective controllers into modular control systems.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position but other qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
You will spend 3 - 4 days working out of the Sheffield centre of excellence with the remaining time on customers sites which could be anywhere in the UK so a willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays, is necessary.
A company van will be provided (for business purposes).
You will need experience of modular control systems, be able to troubleshoot and address issues related to control systems and their online telemetry as required and be able to work with engineering teams in on-site commissioning and optimising controls.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with PLC's, SCADA and similar control equipment, basic PLC programming is a must with experience with PID and other control strategies an advantage
Our client teams work on critical national infrastructure so the successful candidate may need to undergo security clearance. Additionally, a clean full driving licence as this role will involve some UK travel, excellent verbal and written communication skills, good IT skills and customer relationship skills.
