We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a large and well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Preston, for an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer. This is a permanent position offering a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic environment with a wide variety of machinery, ranging from modern, high-tech equipment to older, more traditional machines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct a blend of reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
* Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and ensure timely repairs to minimise downtime.
* Collaborate with production teams to optimise machine performance and efficiency.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards across all operations.
* Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance overall maintenance processes.
Working Hours:
* Permanent day shift, 39 hours per week.
* Monday to Thursday: 7am – 4pm or 8am – 5pm.
* Friday: 7am – 11:50am or 8am – 12:50pm.
Salary & Benefits:
* £35,000 per annum.
* Additional benefits package.
Requirements:
* Electrically biased engineering background, with proven experience in both reactive and planned maintenance.
* Knowledge of a range of electrical and mechanical systems across various machine types.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications in electrical/mechanical engineering would be advantageous.
