REEDS Jewelers is excited to post this important position to join our Accounting team.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the stewardship and supervision of the general ledger and Company financial statement preparation to ensure compliance with GAAP. They ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements are prepared and delivered in an accurate, timely and efficient manner that assures the highest level of customer service.  

Primary Responsibilities:

Exemplify the Reeds Vision, Mission and Core Business Values.

Manage the maintenance of the General Ledger including reviewing and preparing journal entries and account reconciliations while ensuring the accuracy of the data in compliance with GAAP.

Manage the monthly and annual close process to include the preparation and review of financial statements and other reports.

Provide work direction and management oversight to the accounting team.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; career development and growth; and performance management.

Assist in the preparation and coordination of the annual financial audit and periodic bank compliance workpapers.

Recommend and develop policies, procedures, and systems to meet company objectives.

Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions.

Analyze, interpret, and communicate financial operating results to provide information and guidance to management.

Perform special projects as directed by management.

Conduct business affairs in a legal and ethical manner, building a socially conscious environment.

This opportunity offers a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days a week in the office at our corporate headquarters in the beautiful coastal city of Wilmington, NC.

Requirements

Four-year Accounting Degree and/or MBA  

Solid technical knowledge of accounting concepts

CPA license strongly preferred

Workday experience preferred

Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Excel

Exceptional supervisory, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Must be able to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments
