We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Reading, supporting students with additional learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they are engaged and making progress.
* Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans, adapting lesson materials, and offering differentiated support.
* Help manage classroom behavior, promoting positive learning behaviors and supporting students in maintaining focus.
* Support students with emotional and social challenges, encouraging their development in a safe and nurturing setting.
* Assist in preparing learning resources and classroom activities as directed by the teacher.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to monitor student progress and provide feedback.
* Supervise students during break times, lunchtime, and other non-classroom activities as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, in a classroom setting is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, patient approach.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* A positive attitude, with a passion for working with young people and helping them succeed.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviors and remain adaptable in a dynamic school environment.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
