Laboratory Assistant 2 (Day Shift) – Core Laboratory
Full Time – Regular
8:00 am - 4:30 pm
40 hours/week
Weekend and Vacation rotation may be required

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the support of technical areas and independent performance of waived and moderate technical procedures, associated quality control, and preventive maintenance. Participates in Quality management processes as needed.
Depending on the assignment, your role may involve the following responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks, including calling or emailing stakeholders, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth lab operations.
Applications: Utilize various document and lab applications to perform job assignments efficiently and accurately.
Core Lab Operations: Efficiently handle patient samples and reagents, manage and track patient samples, and coordinate add-on testing to support Core Lab operations.
Supply and Inventory Management: Oversee supplies and inventory, including following up with vendors and other departments to maintain necessary stock levels.
Analyzer Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on analyzers, including executing quality control measures to ensure accurate results.
Testing Procedures: Conduct both waived and moderate complexity testing under the supervision of a medical technologist or medical laboratory technician, ensuring adherence to all protocols and standards.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Education and Work Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED
1 year of technical experience in the lab preferred
Training and experience as a Laboratory Assistant in an accredited computerized laboratory preferred.
Good communication skills, entry level computer knowledge and typing skills necessary.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
Microsoft Outlook
Epic
Performance Manager/NetLearning
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
