Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (dependent on experience)

The Role:

As an Accounts / Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing their accounting needs, and providing business advice. You will work closely with clients to ensure compliance and offer financial insights that drive business success. This is a client-facing role that requires a combination of technical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of clients across various industries, providing accounting, tax, and advisory services.

Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns.

Offering proactive advice to clients on tax planning, business strategy, and financial processes.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as their main point of contact.

Ensuring all compliance deadlines are met for clients, including tax returns and statutory filings.

Reviewing and supervising the work of junior staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Identifying opportunities to improve clients’ financial processes and recommending value-added services.

Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and legislation.

Assisting in business development activities, including onboarding new clients and identifying cross-selling opportunities.

Collaborating with other departments to deliver a comprehensive service to clients.

Requirements:

ACA/ACCA qualified (or QBE) with at least 5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.

Proven experience in managing a portfolio of clients and delivering a range of accounting and tax services.

Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and management accounts.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.

Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.

A proactive and client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
