Buying Assistant – Leeds - c£26k-£28k
Our client, a market leading furniture manufacturing business in Leeds, seek to appoint a Buying Assistant to ensure externally sourced components are ordered from the most appropriate source after consideration of price, quality, delivery times and service support.
Buyer | Buying Assistant | Furniture | Manufacturing | Stock Control | Inventory Management | Expediting
You will be responsible for:
operational purchasing - identifying, sourcing and purchasing materials daily for factory production
expediting orders - working with suppliers to ensure on time delivery
managing a range of manufactured components from the initial order, communicating with suppliers and monitoring delivery schedules
collating information to help produce monthly KPIs
stock control & inventory management – forecasting stock requirements, monitoring inventory levels and re-ordering accordingly and in line with demand.

Skills & Abilities:
experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment (ideally furniture)
commercially astute with previous hands-on operational purchasing experience
stock control and inventory management experience – maintaining min & max stock levels etc
strong interpersonal skills - building relationships internally and externally with suppliers
team player with a can-do attitude, strong problem solving and ability to work on own initiative.
