Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit a Software Developer for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £160/day Inside IR35. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- You will predominantly be working to deliver a new messaging platform called the Integration Hub, working with emerging healthcare technologies, standards, clinical data stores, web services and helping to develop the next wave of digital platforms in the organisation.
- Working as part of a well-structured Scrum teams, under the guidance of experienced team leads, you shall take responsibility for delivering individual software components. You shall have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of MS SQL.
Essential Skills:
- Degree in an IT discipline or equivalent experience
- Writing complex data manipulation statements using T-SQL as stored procedures and functions.
- Familiarity and experience with SQL Server Management Studio 2008 - 2019
- Creating, and using, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services packages 2008+.
- Normalisation techniques and ER-diagramming to design and create scalable, high-performance databases
Desirable Skills:
- Agile development methodologies such as Scrum
- Azure Dev ops (Team Foundation Server)
- Understanding and implementing SOLID principles
- Experience with HL7 v 2.x and FHIR messaging standards
- Redgate SQL developer tools
- Requirements analysis
- TSQLT - Unit Testing SQL Procedures
- Unix/PowerShell Scripting
- Knowledge of High Availability solutions, such as Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, and Always On (Availability Groups)
- Microsoft Power BI
- Experience of Microsoft SQL Server tools, eg SQL Server Profiler, Query Analyser to help tune queries & create indexes.
