Position: Nursery Room Leader
Location: London, UK
Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join our vibrant nursery in London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of practitioners, ensuring the highest standard of care, safety, and education for children in the nursery. You will work closely with management to maintain compliance with OFSTED standards and create a stimulating, nurturing environment where children can develop and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership and Supervision: Lead and support the nursery room staff, ensuring excellent teamwork, staff development, and a positive working environment.

* Curriculum Development: Plan, prepare, and oversee age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

* Childcare and Safety: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times, managing any concerns or incidents efficiently and appropriately.

* Parent Partnership: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child’s progress and day-to-day experiences.

* Observations and Assessments: Monitor, observe, and assess children’s development, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.

* Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with OFSTED regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery policies, ensuring high standards are met.

* Environment Management: Create and maintain a stimulating, engaging, and safe learning environment both indoors and outdoors.

* Training and Development: Identify and implement staff training needs, mentoring junior team members to enhance their skills and professional growth.

Requirements:

* Qualifications:

* NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent (Level 4 or 5 desirable)

* Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)

* Safeguarding training

* Experience:

* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a nursery setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or room leader role.

* Proven experience working within the EYFS framework.

* Skills:

* Strong leadership and organisational skills

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff

* A proactive, nurturing, and creative approach to childcare
