Position Summary:
As a Power BI Developer within our Business Intelligence (BI) team, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making within our organization. Leveraging your expertise in data visualization and analytics, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy Power BI solutions that drive business value.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Modeling: Conduct thorough analysis of business requirements and data sources to design efficient data models that support reporting and analytics needs.
Dashboard and Report Development: Develop interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring ease of use and accessibility for stakeholders.
Data Visualization: Utilize best practices in data visualization to effectively communicate insights and trends to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Query Optimization: Optimize queries and data retrieval processes to enhance performance and ensure timely delivery of insights.
Data Governance: Implement data governance best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of data within Power BI solutions.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with BI analysts, Commercial leadership, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and iterate on solutions.
Documentation: Document data models, report specifications, and development processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to end users to enable self-service analytics and maximize adoption of Power BI solutions.
Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in Power BI and related technologies to continuously improve skills and drive innovation within the BI team.
Requirements
Bachelor's or master’s degree in STEM field (e.g., computer science, data science, engineering, information technology)
Proficiency in Power BI Service/Report Server, Power Query, DAX, and other related tools and technologies. 3+ years of development experience.
Power BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker) are preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge and experience in the spirits industry is a nice to have, but not a requirement.
