Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include loading/unloading of trucks and movement of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods. This role is located in Painesville Ohio, reporting to the Finishing Team Manager.
Shift: 7pm - 7am, 2-2-3 rotation
Starting hiring rate: $21.58/hr plus $2/hr shift differential
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finished, Shipping, Receiving, and manufacturing areas.
Unload/load trucks with incoming/outgoing materials. - Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents.
Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.
Support inventory accuracy: Complete warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepancies and help manage winding drum and rack inventories
Raw/Finishing warehouse: Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required. Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping
Perform all assignments, duties, and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately.
Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.
Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.
Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations.
Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials.
Support all daily 5S housekeeping activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
