Dining Services Dishwasher/Sanitation Assistant

Mount Alverna Village, a part of Franciscan Ministries, is hiring Dishwashers/Santitation Assistants. This role provides assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed by the Dining Services Director, Executive Chef or Supervisor. Deliver prepared foods to the serving areas, serve and clean-up after each meal. May work alone or part of a team in preparing meals to residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure proper sanitation of dishware, glassware, flatware, utensils, pots, pans, and minor/major kitchen equipment. Maintain a sanitary and clean working environment. Assist in deep cleaning of kitchen and equipment.
Operate ware washing machine in a safe and efficient manor according to manufacture recommendations. Oversee and monitor ware washing machine detergent, rise additives, and sanitizer levels to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation.
Check in and put away any food or non-food deliveries. Adhere to FIFO (First In First Out) guidelines and ensure all food items are property stored labeled and dated.
Required skills and qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Previous food experience a plus but not a requirement
Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
Must enjoy working with the senior population
