Job Description:

Responsible for setting the strategic direction of the UI/UX function within the organization and ensuring that all products meet high design standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Leads the development of UI/UX vision and design strategy aligned with the overall product vision and strategy.

2. Demonstrates deep understanding and hands on experience in information architecture, site blueprint mapping, and interaction design, as well an understanding of user-centered design principles and practices, journey mapping techniques, and persona development based on research and data.

3. Uses excellent UI/UX design skills showcasing problem solving techniques focused on the customer to drive business results.

4. Possesses expertise in design software such as Figma, Figjam, and Miro; as well as knowledge in user research tools such as (url removed) or Maze.

5. Manages high-level design budgets, resources, and partnerships to integrate design into the company’s overall business strategy.

7. Leads the research and implementation of innovative and creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)

8. Leads, coaches, and trains a team in a scaled agile organization. Sets performance standards, manages workflow, grants authorities, evaluates performance, provides coaching/mentoring, and recommends personnel actions within delegated authorities. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required

Work Experience:

10 years of proven experience as a UX Designer responsible for Design and UX Research and advocating for customer experience, required

5 years of experience managing direct reports in an agile / scaled agile environment required

3 years of experience in user research and usability testing required

Prior Experience in Financial Services and Banking, preferred

1. Nielsen or Google UX Design certification preferred

2. Extensive experience in UI/UX design, with a track record of successful project management of complex and enterprise-wide design projects and leadership of large design teams.

3. Extensive experience in developing and maintaining design systems.

4. Proven expertise in UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud), with a portfolio demonstrating successful design projects.

5. Expert understanding of product management principles and best practices, with demonstrated application of knowledge of business, product maturity/performance, and industry principles, practices, and procedures.

6. Advanced technical proficiency of relevant technologies (e.g., Javascript, Typescript, ReactJS, Material UI, storybook, Playwright).

7. Demonstrated successful experience with presentation and communication skills, including to executive management and key stakeholders.

About CoBank:

The typical base pay range for this role is between $154,057 - $214,216. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
