Sodexo is seeking a Patient Transport Manager /Single eXPress Operations Manager 1 to oversee the Patient Transport department at UF Health in Jacksonville, FL. UF Health at Jacksonville is the region’s premier academic health center, a leader in the education of health professionals, a hub for clinical research and a unique provider of high-quality patient care. This position requires a BLS certification prior to starting in the role.

As the Patient Transport Operations Manager, you will supervise approximately 20-25 employees and a supervisor transporting patients to various testing areas of the hospital and/or being discharged, this position reports to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will have worked in either a hospital or healthcare environment as a Manager in either ES/Housekeeping and/or Patient Transportation.  Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills required.

Our Healthcare Patient Transport and Service Response Center teams work to ensure exceptional patient care/satisfaction at our healthcare client locations, partnering with them to deliver innovative solutions. These teams also have responsibility for driving client satisfaction by providing stellar customer service via effective communication with all levels of hospital staff, as well as follow-through with action items that impact both client and patient satisfaction.

The successful candidate will:

Maintain and inspect transport equipment, as well as related logistics, documentation and reporting;

Create a positive patient experience by setting the tone and culture of patient expectations, including the provision of concierge transport services, through a compassionate bedside manner;

Respond to and/or managing calls through the Service Response Center;

Be responsible for driving patient satisfaction scores;

Provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff;

Work with the Environment of Care Committee and Infection Prevention Director;

Effectively manage the Unit Operating System; and/or

Support a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

BLS certification;

experience improving patient satisfaction, and driving full compliance to HCAHPS, local, state and Joint Commission standards;

knowledge of patient care services in a healthcare setting;

Service Response Center or call center experience;

experience with vendor and contract management, as well as union and contract negotiations;

the ability to analyze data, present and effectively communicate to all levels within the organization related to training, leading hospital committees and change management;

experience effectively managing projects within agreed upon timelines;

proficiency with computers and other technology;

strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently to drive program compliance and reach project target dates of completion;

3-5 years previous management level patient transport or Service Response Center experience in a hospital or healthcare environment; and/or

strong hospitality or customer service experience.
