LaBella is seeking a Team Leader to assist the Regional Leader grow and expand our capabilities in the Lower Hudson Valley. In your responsibilities, you will manage projects and teams to perform studies, create engineering plans, and be involved in projects from conception through closeout. You will take part in quality control, client interfacing, budgeting, and the mentoring and supervising of junior engineers, as well as interact with clients, contractors and local government officials.

Responsibilities

Review of studies, reports, design and preparation of construction documents for water distribution systems, sewage collection, storage facilities, control vaults, pumping stations, booster stations, water and wastewater treatment, stormwater systems, parking lots, roadways, sidewalks and green infrastructure

Familiarity with hydraulic/hydrologic modeling of water distribution, wastewater, stormwater systems

Prepare and manage scope, schedule, and budget for proposals and contracts.

Manage junior engineering staff, sub-consultants, and expenses during project implementation.

Effectively communicate project goals, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes to project team, client, and public (memos, reports, presentations, etc.).

Assisting in anticipating project issues, including advising the client on alternatives and providing recommendations for solving issues.

Assisting in implementing projects from scoping to completion.

Assisting in the timely and accurate completion of LaBella and sub-consultant invoices and collections.

Assistance in Business Development and Client Satisfaction.

Understanding LaBella services and how they relate to the client's organization and needs.

Assisting in obtaining repeat work from clients, including cross-selling of services

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.

PE registration in New York (or ability to obtain within 1-year)

8-12 years of design experience in municipal civil engineering.

Experience in design of water mains, sanitary sewers, roads, pathways, and stormwater systems, are a requirement. Experience with Utility projects within NYSDOT R.O.W. is a plus.

Experience or familiarity working with GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Bluebeam and/or hydraulic and hydrology design programs such as EPA-SWMM, H2O-Map, WaterCAD/SewerCad/GEMS or Info water.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent communication and organization skills with a positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.

Collaborative team-minded values.

Desire to solve challenging problems and help advance our clients.

Candidate must be able to lead project teams on selected projects.

Projects may require working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, hydrogeologists, architects, and technicians and will range from preliminary engineering to final design/construction documents.

Must be able to document and present work to team & clients in a clear and concise manner.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000)The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
