Responsibilities:

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer, Senior Advisor to:

Implement, test, and operate using advanced software security techniques in compliance with the technical reference architecture to enhance software systems.

Perform on-going security testing and participate in code reviews to improve software security and features.

Debug, design, and code new software or modify existing software.

Provide and recommend engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.

Contribute on all levels of the architecture and maintain technical documentation.

Collaborate with team members and exchange knowledge on secure coding practices.

Ability to develop a familiarity with new tools and best practices.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

An active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.

Fourteen (14) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required, or four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated work experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products such as Hbase/Accumulo, Big Table, etc.

A minimum of six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent eight (8) years developing production software for Solaris or Linux environments

Six years (6) of experience developing software using the Java programming language or C or C++

Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful services

Demonstrated work experience in Java development

Experience with Kubernetes

Previous experience developing analytics applications

Target Salary Range:

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
