Overview:

The Vascular Sonographer Inpatient Registered is responsible for performing non-invasive ultrasound procedures to assess blood vessels' health and functionality, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions such as blood clots or artery diseases. Utilizing advanced imaging equipment, the position produces high-quality images, playing a crucial role in helping physicians make informed decisions and provide optimal patient care.

Responsibilities:

Performs vascular ultrasound examinations for accurate assessments to aid in the identification of vascular conditions and supports patient treatment planning.

Analyzes test data, identifying abnormalities and relaying findings clearly to medical professionals in both verbal and written formats to contribute to informed medical decisions for vascular conditions and patient well-being.

Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and promptly reporting any technical issues to facilitate continuous patient care.

Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, participating in discussions about patient cases, sharing insights, and contributing to comprehensive care plans.

If trained by staff education and demonstrates competency, performs in IV insertion and maintains annual competency to ensure patient comfort and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of vascular examinations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 1 year

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

Required:

RVT from ARDMS or RVS from CCI or RT-VS from ARRT

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
