Senior Accounting Manager

Summary/Objective

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting processes, with a focus on managing vendor relationships, and validating/auditing the firm's financial transactions . This role ensures compliance with company policies and internal controls, drives cost-saving initiatives, and supports month-end closing activities.

Essential Functions

Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and processing employee reimbursements.

Perform expense analysis to monitor trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Review vendor contracts and negotiate terms to optimize payment conditions and discounts.

Ensure vendor invoices are correctly coded to the appropriate General Ledger (GL) accounts and departments.

Process purchase orders, receiving reports, and payments, ensuring all transactions comply with internal controls.

Oversee the generation and filing of 1099s and W-9s, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Prepare and review weekly and monthly A/P aging reports, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Reconcile recurring payments and ensure the timely processing of recurring invoices.

Manage banking activities including ACH transactions, positive pay exceptions, and wire transfers.

Support month-end close activities, including expense uploads and credit card reconciliations.

Competencies

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to handle complex financial transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and accounting software systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on cost control and financial accuracy.

Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, particularly in accounts payable and financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.

Experience with vendor relations and contract management.
