Overview:
*Sign-On Bonus Eligible - $10,000
Location: Lisle, Variable Locations.
Hours: Full-Time. 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday; variable 8 hour shifts between 7:30am-7pm. Every fourth Saturday required.
Under the supervision of the Manager and Breast Radiologist, a successful applicant will utilize independent judgment and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of breast procedures, anatomy, and physiology. Be responsible for the variety of breast imaging examinations for the purpose of assisting in a patient’s medical diagnosis or screening for cancer

Responsibilities:
The Journeys and Adventures that Await
Patient Care & Imaging
Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner. Follow department protocols and specific radiologist direction.
Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure; assuring information is documented in accordance with the department's standards.
Prepare patient for procedures; providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest. Explain the need for breast compression while respecting the patient's ability and comfort.
Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
Experience with stereotactic biopsies and/or willing to be trained to assist with this procedure
Department Support
Participates in staff meetings with employee involvement
Maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, physicians, and other health care team members
Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and co-workers
Maintains confidentiality with others regarding patient and organizational information
Maintenance of supplies needed to ensure adequate levels within the department.
Qualifications:
The Experiences You Bring
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
Mammography experience preferred but not required
Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus
Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography is required.
Active ARRT certification status maintained by fulfilling continuing education requirements.
Illinois State Licensure (IEMA)
CPR Certification
Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to present required.
Knowledge of computer-based applications, email and standard applications such as Microsoft Office
Working knowledge and skills of a mammography technologist and can perform the daily tasks and duties of a technologist, including patient care and completion of clinical exams
