We are hiring a HRIS Software Engineer reporting to the HRIS Team. We are looking for a strong developer who has a passion to code and a desire to learn new technologies working on high-profile projects. This position is full-time, benefits eligible, and based at Rush Enterprises Corporate Office in New Braunfels TX.

*THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED TO SIT IN NEW BRAUNFELS/SAN ANTONIO/AUSTIN,TX AREA*

NO REMOTE WORK.

HYBRID AFTER 90 DAYS.

 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Analyze requests from users and translate into proper business requirements and project scope, with appropriate timelines for delivery.

Design, build, test, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.

Design and develop scalable data-intensive web and console-based applications and services supporting multiple projects using the Microsoft .NET framework and Azure SQL Server.

Improve operations by identifying bottlenecks, bugs, and system deficiencies within existing software and highlight for the team with a more efficient and dependable solution.

Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

Proactively perform code reviews, give feedback, and ask questions regarding projects assigned.

Support all phases of life-cycle software implementation and application development.

Actively participate in agile/scrum software development activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and well-versed in C# syntax.

Comprehensive understanding of fundamental OOP design principles and patterns (explanation and implementation).

Understanding of various design and architecture patterns such as Layered and MVC.

Deep understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and web services (REST, SOAP, and Graph)

Understanding of agile software development methodologies and practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Domain-Driven Development (DDD)

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team of software developers.

Be able to clearly communicate complex technical designs and solutions in clear, concise, and easily readable format by both technical and non-technical personnel.

Strong analytical and reasoning skills.

Understanding of relational data.

Deep understanding of Dependency Injection and how the containers work.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Experience working with the ASP.NET framework, creating MVC applications and well-versed in using Razor syntax.

Experience using the ASP.NET Web API framework.

Experience in cloud-based development, preferably using Microsoft Azure.

Experienced in writing JavaScript and using supported libraries such as jQuery and Ajax.

Experience working with HTML5 and canvas element; specifically drawing and rendering.

Experience creating cascading style sheets (CSS) and using CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap.

Must have experiencing creating unit tests and be able to explain why they are needed.

Experience using Entity Framework or equivalent ORM.

Experience working with LINQ and lambda expressions.

Comprehensive understanding of generic delegates.

Understanding and experiencing with asynchronous programming using the async/await pattern.

Experiencing using Azure DevOps

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

8+ years of professional Full Stack software development experience using .NET Framework.

8+ years’ experience in SQL, SQL Server T-SQL Development, and administration

8+ years’ experience with database development tools (SQL Server) and ETL Tools

Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operation.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Information Technology; or B.S.E. in Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
