JOB SUMMARY:

Provides a complete and accurate record of all statements made at trials, hearings, depositions or meetings to furnish an official written record.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities:

Listens to and records proceedings, dialogue, or dictation of reports, correspondence, and other matters. 

Transcribes recorded material into readable format.  

Responsible for reading portions of transcript aloud when requested. 

Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. 

Texas is an “employment at-will” state, and this position serves at the pleasure of the elected official.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED; Must be certified by the State of Texas as a Court Reporter. 

10 years experience as a freelance or court reporter.

Must have familiarity with Computer Aided Transcription (CAT).

Must provide equipment necessary to provide “real time” reporting.

SALARY: $(phone number removed) annually
