Responsibilities:

This individual will have a dual set of responsibilities: Business Development Analyst (BDA) and Procurement. Time and effort will be equally allocated to each role, with the ability to prioritize one over the other as business opportunities and priorities require.

This position is located in Houston, Texas 

Business Analysist Responsibilities

The individual will apply financial principles and modeling to improve revenues, support business strategies and decision-making, and expand our customer base in the cell and gene therapy space.  This role will include reporting on and analysis of customers’ activity and as well as the evaluation projects’ pricing, revenues, margins, and processes under the supervision of a business team lead, supporting the generation of pricing for incoming requests for quotes and proposals with a focus on improving revenues and margins.

Key BA responsibilities include:

Business Analysis: Conduct detailed business analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the cell therapy development and manufacturing processes.

Data Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document internal data as well as enter both internal and external data into tools such as Salesforce (CRM).

Data Analysis: Analyze complex data sets to provide actionable insights and support decision-making processes.

Process Improvement: Use gathered data to help develop process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Market Trends:  Identify market trends using gathered data and work with marketing and BD teams to shape the business unit’s BD and marketing strategies.

Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Collaborative Interactions: The individual in this role will have significant interactions with cross-functional teams with the NYBC organization and interactions with external potential clients.

Procurement Responsibilities

Manage the procurement of materials for clinical or commercial manufacturing operations, in compliance with all applicable federal and state rules, regulations and guidelines.  It is expected that this role will ensure that all materials and equipment are sourced timely and at the best possible prices. Vendors’ account creation and generation of purchase requisitions, monthly reports, KPIs monitoring, and management of suppliers’ relationships and contracting are included.

Key Procurement Responsibilities Include:

Finance Support: Partnering with Finance team to ensure purchasing systems are well coordinated with Finance and meet all requirements from an audit/compliance standpoint

Business Operations: This role will also include supporting development of business processes including invoicing and billing, and others as assigned.

Operational Assessments: Leading distributer operational assessments and due diligence including financial evaluations and business continuity evaluations

Responsibilities may also include supporting the establishment of CDAs for initial customer engagements and follow up activities as assigned.  

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree to include finance, business development, marketing, or similar.  MBA is a plus. 

Experience:

Combined minimum of 10 years’ experience in in procurement and business analyst or similar role

Knowledge:

Knowledge of financial principles and modeling.

Expert knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint).

Understanding of the utility and application of CRMs.

Strong written and oral presentation/communications skills.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail in all work processes.

Ability to develop positive customer relations.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong analytical capabilities.

High level of interpersonal skills to handle a variety of complex issues and situations.

Ability to communicate clearly and with authority, both in writing and verbally, to others in one-on-one or small group settings.

Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and customers in a helpful, courteous, and friendly manner while demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for diverse populations.

Ability to work in a strong team environment.

Ability to plan and organize job tasks or resources in an efficient manner.

Ability to be responsive and available to management in order to address issues and concerns as they arise.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems within established policies and procedures.

Ability to identify complex problems in a timely manner, decipher information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Ability to handle confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
