POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities
Provide principal administrative and research support to the Principal Investigator (PI) in the administration and implementation of an NIH funded project being conducted at Montefiore Opioid Treatment Programs
Work with PI to develop study protocols and protocol amendments for the IRB as needed, including the development of new measures
Manage day-to-day operations of the projects, including supervision of study staff.
Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for activities at each study site.
Manage data collection, analysis and cleaning, performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol.
Work with PI to develop and monitor implementation of project work plans.
Track screening, enrollment and follow-up data collection of study participants; prepare regular reports for the PI about participant recruitment and study-visit completion.
Determine staffing needs to ensure efficient and appropriate coverage, and recommend appropriate changes to staffing patterns as needed. Manage staff performance and valuate the quality of work providing timely and corrective feedback as needed.
Train and supervise new staff on study procedures.
Manage participant recruitment, tracking, retention, and follow-up.
Arrange meetings of study partners, develop meeting agendas, and facilitate meeting
Prepare agendas for and coordinate project meetings and phone calls. Write and distribute minutes from all meetings.
Conduct quality assurance on adherence to study and regulatory procedures.
Partner with Einstein’s REDCap team to revise and maintain study databases.
Oversee study data collection by study staff and troubleshoot challenges that arise with REDCap and support data quality assurance and cleaning.
Assist in drafting data reports, preparing conference abstracts, and presentations related to the project.
Prepare and submit ethics applications, including amendments and annual renewals to the Einstein Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Assist the PI in the management of the study budget, purchasing requisitions, and tracking of subcontract invoices from collaborating institutions.
Assist the PD in the preparation of reports to the Data Safety Monitoring Board, NIH, and other key stakeholders.
Work with Departmental Administrator to develop and monitor project budgets.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of related experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience with REDCap preferred
Skills and Competencies
As part of a team, must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and adhere to study protocol.
Problem solving and ability to identify solutions to issues that arise
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; detail oriented.
Ability to work with a diverse population
Expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with database and statistical software (e.g., REDCap and SAS or Stata).
Minimum Salary Range:

For this study, we will determine whether an FDA-authorized mindfulness VR therapy can decrease pain and illicit opioid use in patients enrolled in methadone maintenance programs at Montefiore. The study will enroll 192 participants over 4 years. This position is 100% onsite, splitting time between Montefiore’s Opioid Treatment Programs and the Division of General Internal Medicine.
