Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for working with project teams and clients to develop communications products such as fact sheets, talking points, presentations, social media, and website posts, etc. The position will represent the company and the project to a variety of stakeholders at formal and informal meetings and presentations. This role requires a combination of public relations, communications, problem solving and analytical skills, collaboration and teamwork, and client relationship building/management skills. The successful candidate will have a high attention to detail and demonstrate excellence in oral and written communications. A writing sample will be a requirement of the interview process.
Responsibilities:
Drafts press releases, progress updates, newsletters, email blasts, social posts and website updates
Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders, including liaising with the project owner
Coordinates and oversees advertising and PR campaigns
Ensures all communication is cohesive and follows project owner requirements
Attends regular meetings with project team, project owner and other stakeholders
Tracks and analyzes media inquiries and stakeholder engagement
Logs and responds to all public inquiries, complaints, and damage claims in a timely manner
Other duties as assigned by Project Manager or Communications Team
Overview:
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field
At least 2-4 years of experience in public relations, public information or communications
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute successful public relations campaigns
Proficient in Microsoft Office
This is an onsite position reporting to Norfolk office with local travel within Hampton Roads expected.
