Overview:

The Office of Information Technology is looking for a highly collaborative Network Administrator to help manage and maintain the organizations hardware & wireless infrastructure including servers, network switches, routers, and storage area networks. This position works under the direction of the Network Infrastructure Manager for Middlesex County.

Responsibilities:

Identify and solve any problems that arise with computer networks and systems.

Define network policies and procedures.

Monitor computer networks & connectivity to identify how performance can be improved.

Perform preventive security monitoring activities to ensure the network is secure.

Resolve any network related issues for end users.

Handle network tasks including provisioning of circuits, upgrades, and the decommissioning process to ensure security of data and network integrity.

Microsoft Azure Administration (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Office Apps., Azure provisioning)

Dell/Cisco/IBM server infrastructure administration.

Setup user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Active Directory.

Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.

Use cyber security tactics to protect the organization.

Manage Webex calling VOIP platform & oversee cabling of buildings for office moves.

Specify system requirements, design solutions, and make recommendations on server system administration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree preferred; may substitute education with experience and/or certifications.

At least 2 years of proven experience in a Network Administrator role.

Proven ability to manage and maintain an organizations hardware infrastructure including servers, network switches and routers and storage area networks.

Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS, preferably Palo Alto.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills is required.

Cisco routing and switching experience (EIGRP, L2 - L3)

Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.

Can develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and operations using standard tools for backup & recovery as well as disaster recovery replication.

Capacity to manage and maintain core software including EDR, deployment software, Proofpoint cloud email security, Beyond Trust Remote Support, PRA, and Workspace ONE.

Knowledge to manage and maintain virtual server environments including VMware vSphere 7+ infrastructure.

Telephony experience including VOIP, POTS structured cabling management.

Excellent ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
