Work Schedule:

Coverage shifts available: Sunday - Saturday, 8.5 to 13 hours, Days and NightsFlexibility required 

Job Specific Position Duties: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:

CORE Duties:

• Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.

• Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.

• Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.

• Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.

• Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.

• Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.

Duties- Specific:

In addition to the duties listed in the basic contract, the following additional or supplemental duties are required for HCWs on this TO. The duties for the HCW are as follows but not limited to:

 Perform the evaluation, admission, diagnosis, treatment, disposition, and management of emergency medicine patients.

 Provide prompt subspecialty or other specialty referral and consultation assistance to other specialty services in the hospital.

 Provide teaching and supportive services to medical students, interns, Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Fellows and/or residents.

 Respond to all codes and render all available emergency procedures and treatment to stabilize patients in cases of serious illness or injury.

 Facilitate, as required, referral to the patient's primary physician, or consultant, for definitive medical care of chronic or serious emergency conditions.

 Interpret results of diagnostic studies and determine appropriate treatment regimens according to established standards, guidelines, and protocols.

 Conduct patient education with an emphasis on prevention of illness/injury.

 Contact medical personnel to obtain and provide substantive confidential, medical information within limits of legal restraint and provide recommendations and advice to management regarding the medical conditions of specific employees.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Education: M.D. or D.O.; Successful completion of a residency program in Emergency Medicine which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association.

* Experience: Minimum 3 years experience, within the past 4 years as an Emergency Medicine Physician

* License: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state

* Board Certification: Board certification in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Association.

* Life Support Certifications: BLS; other certifications may be required as part of the credentilaing process

* Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.

Pay Scale: $170/hr to $240/hr, to be determined based on employment options, qualifications, experience, and location
