Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Representative greets all patients and visitors in a courteous manner while initiating the check-in process.
Obtains and verifies accurate patient identification and demographical data to confirm or update patient’s permanent medical record, while recognizing and maintaining the confidentiality of all patient information.
The PA Rep is responsible for completing the patient registration and admission process, upfront or point of service collections, and providing professional customer service during face-to-face, as well as telephone interactions with patients and visitors, physicians, nurses, and other hospital personnel.
Qualifications:
Education
High School education or the equivalent GED.
Prefer course work in medical terminology.
Experience
Six months clerical and customer service experience required.
Some computer experience required.
Prefer medical and insurance experience.
Must be able to type a minimum of 30 WPM.
Compensation
$14.29-$23.34/hr based on previous work experience
