What you'll bring to the team:

Position Summary:         

Safety is paramount in everything we do. This role is part of the facilities team, which is an integral part of our Technical Services department. As a member of the facilities team, you will play a major role in the success of our resort and have one of the most important responsibilities throughout the park. You must always provide and guarantee a fun and safe environment for our guests with a focus on safety, ensuring that our equipment and buildings are inspected, maintained, and repaired to the highest levels possible. As a HVAC Technician you will inspect, repair and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems and related equipment in our facilities. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of all HVAC equipment and make necessary adjustments and repairs. Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, controls, belts, heat exchangers, high limit controls, pressure controls, safety valves and automatic gas valves. Identify maintenance risks on all equipment and keep logs and records of all maintenance functions. Ensure compliance with appliance standards, Legoland’s health and safety standards and OSHA requirements. Other tasks assigned based on business need.

Main Responsibilities:

Keeps safety as #1 priority. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow instructions for handling materials based on their SDS (safety data sheets).

Always follows LEGOLAND Florida policies and procedures.

Requires a demonstrated flexibility to handle a wide range of highly complex and challenging duties throughout the theme park, with extreme care, focused attention and skillful precision.

Requires the ability to use a full range of measuring devices and power tools.

Follow applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations of State and local authorities pertaining to HVAC and refrigeration, including OSHA.

Advises working supervisor and/or management of any discrepancies in equipment or tools.

Ensures that all work assigned is completed and of good sound workmanship.

Preventative Maintenance checks are accurately logged into CMMS work order system.

Stays informed and updated on modern techniques and technical methods.

Attends morning staff meetings.

Responds to emergency calls within theme park, expediting repairs to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and fellow employees.

May be required to assist in a variety of other maintenance-related tasks depending on the needs of the department and employee capabilities. 

A friendly, polite and customer service-oriented demeanor is required. Requires the ability to follow supervisor’s directions effectively with the ability to observe and remember details. Use and knowledge of hand tools needed to meet the requirements of the above job description.

Health & Safety:

Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.  Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.

Physical Demands:

Work in hard to access areas such as uneven terrain and confined spaces.

Requires the use of safety goggles, gloves, ear plugs, respiratory devices and all other PPE when appropriate.

Frequent lifting of moderate to heavy loads (25 – 70lbs). Required to lift and move loads with uneven weight distribution.

Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive.

Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees.

Hear with surrounding distracting noises.  Noise level to possibly exceed 85 decibels.

Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.

Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.

Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.

Work all hours, rotating schedules to include weekends and holidays.

Maintain excellent physical condition with no restrictions on lifting, bending or respiratory actions.

Stand and walk for long periods of time.

Climb to high places and perform work and inspection in difficult locations.

Hear with surrounding distracting noises.

Work in extreme hot and cold conditions.

Present in a neat, well-groomed professional manner.

Qualifications & Experience:

Background and Experience:

Minimum of 2 years as an HVAC Technician is preferred.

Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration        systems.

EPA 608 Universal Certified

Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.

Dependable and Responsible (after all, our guests depend on you!)

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred. HVAC Trade school is also preferred.

Pay Range:

From USD $19.25/Hr.
