Position Title: Radiation Therapist

Location: Waxahachie, TX

Shift: 12 HR Days (Monday - Friday, Full-Time)

Scheduled Hours: 36 per week

Salary Range: $36 - $52 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team. You will perform high-quality radiation therapy procedures at both of our Cancer Centers in Waxahachie and Duncanville, based on the greatest need. This role involves direct patient care, precise delivery of radiation treatments, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. Your expertise and attention to detail will be critical in providing the highest standard of care to our patients.

Essential Functions:

Perform high-quality radiation therapy procedures according to established protocols in a timely manner.

Utilize AIDET principles when communicating with patients to ensure correct procedures are performed, and establish rapport with patients and their families.

Prepare patients and the procedure area by properly positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting equipment controls.

Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control, radiation safety, and proper sterile techniques during procedures.

Maintain and operate radiation therapy equipment, ensuring optimal performance by working with engineers and physicists.

Manage and maintain accurate medical imaging records and documentation, ensuring compliance with department policies.

Assist in inventory management, ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures.

Provide first aid and emergency care when needed, and maintain a calm demeanor under stress.

Serve as a preceptor, providing training to new team members and supporting the implementation of new services and initiatives.

Key Success Factors:

Proficiency in performing radiation therapy procedures according to protocol with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Strong communication skills, capable of explaining procedures and putting patients at ease.

Ability to work independently without routine oversight, maintaining professionalism and focus under pressure.

Commitment to customer satisfaction through prompt service, courteous interaction, and professional behavior.

Up-to-date knowledge and skills in radiation therapy, including the ability to care for patients of all ages.

Willingness to take calls as required and provide flexible support across both Cancer Center locations.

Qualifications:

Certification/License/Registration: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T).

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
