About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Administrative Officer to join our friendly office team, supporting the smooth running of our busy two-site primary school in Burton upon Trent.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handle day-to-day administrative tasks, including invoicing and general office duties.
* Maintain effective communication with staff, parents/carers, pupils, and external professionals.
* Manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Support and mentor office staff, including overseeing inductions, appraisals, and day-to-day management.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and, ideally, carry out risk assessments.
Candidate Requirements:
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
* Numeracy Skills: Excellent numeracy skills for handling invoices and financial tasks.
* Administrative Experience: Extensive experience in administrative roles, particularly involving invoicing.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
* IT Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IT systems like Word, Publisher, and Excel. Familiarity with SIMS and MyFinance is a plus.
* Leadership: Experience in line management, including staff inductions, appraisals, and mentoring.
* Health & Safety: Understanding of health & safety regulations and experience with risk assessments (desirable).
