Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Secondary
Location: Newham, East London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are looking for a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school in Newham. You will work closely with students aged 11-16 who have a range of special educational needs, providing both academic and emotional support in and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students, including those with autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.
Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them with learning activities and promoting independence.
Implement individualised support plans, behaviour management strategies, and interventions as directed by the SENCO.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher and SENCO, ensuring each child's needs are met.
Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.Requirements:
Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
A caring and patient attitude, with a strong ability to form positive relationships with students.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
