This position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (i.e. group health, dental, vision, health savings account, and retirement plans). The HR Intern also provides excellent employee service and thorough knowledge of our benefits programs.

Requirements

Core Functions & Responsibilities

·Help process employee enrollments in benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.

·Update and maintain accurate records in the benefits management system.

·Prepare and organize benefits-related documentation, such as enrollment forms, benefit summaries, and policy documents.

·Ensure that all documents are filed correctly and are easily accessible.

·Serve as a point of contact for employees with questions about their benefits.

·Provide information or direct queries to the appropriate person or department.

·Input and update employee benefits data into HRIS or other benefits management systems.

·Verify the accuracy of data and resolve any discrepancies.

·Help create and distribute communication materials related to benefits updates, open enrollment, or policy changes.

·Draft and review benefits-related content for clarity and accuracy.

·Assist in organizing and setting up benefits-related workshops, seminars, or informational meetings for employees.

·Aid in the administration of benefits programs, including processing claims and managing vendor relationships.

·Assist in tracking and reporting on benefits utilization.

·Assists in the administration of the open enrollment process.

Required Skills

·Familiarity with different types of employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

·Ability to work with and analyze data related to benefits usage and costs. Basic proficiency in Excel or other data management tools can be useful.

·Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) or benefits management software a plus.

·Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in handling data and processing.

·Strong skills in drafting emails, reports, or documentation related to benefits.

·Clear and effective communication skills to address employee inquiries, resolve issues, and provide support in a professional and empathetic manner.

·Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently.

·Familiarity with benefits management software and tools, as well as general office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word).

·Proficiency in data management and generating reports

·Capability to identify issues and develop effective solutions; experience troubleshooting benefits-related problems, addressing discrepancies, and finding ways to improve benefits processes.

·Understanding of payroll deductions and payroll process.

Education and Experience

·High School diploma or professional experience.
