This is a Summer 2025 internship to support Scout’s procurement efforts. Our intern will leverage their technical and analytical skills to identify better approaches to common challenges faced in the utility-scale renewable energy industry.   

The main focus of the internship will be the following project:   

Procurement Process improvement: The intern will use process improvement tools to collect information, assess data, organize data, and propose improvement on the procurement process and controls. 

Procurement procedures: The intern will formalize into procedures and templates the procurement process, practices and routines. 

Deliverables:   

New process design and implementation plan 

Final procedures 

In addition to their core project, we plan to provide the intern with two other types of professional development:   

Industry exposure – Our Procurement Team will invite you to shadow them during meetings and other training opportunities in order to provide you with additional insight into key industry trends and challenges. (Approx. 15% time)  

Requirements

Interest in the renewable energy industry.   

Interest in the Supply Chain field.   

Interest in making things simpler, easier and smarter. 

Proficient in Power Automate based applications.   

Demonstrated commitment to excellence in delivery and in results.   

Dynamic verbal and written communication skills that are appropriate for a professional setting.   

Ability to work independently without direct supervision.   

  

Organizational Fit   

Demonstrated ability to work in a flat organization, successfully leveraging the expertise of multiple colleagues in different lines of reporting.   

Effective communication, project management and team-building skills experience working with cross- functional internal and external technical advisors and stakeholders.   

Ability to multi-task and arbitrate between conflicting priorities with clear target setting and follow- through capability in a fast-paced work environment.   

Willing and available to travel as needed (one trip during the program).   

Authorized to work in the United States.   

Required Education: Currently enrolled student in an accredited college or university in a technical discipline such as: Industrial Engineering, Programing, Supply Chain, Economy, Business Management, Project Management, Physics, or Math.  

Timeline and Location  

This position will begin in May 2025. The internship will be a full-time (40 hr/week) commitment for the duration of the 12-week internship program. Our ideal candidate will be able to work out of our Boulder office during the duration of the internship program per the program requirements.
