Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer to be based in New York, Latham, or Buffalo, NY.
This position is expected to begin May 2025.
The candidate would be assigned to work on a variety of civil engineering projects for local, state, and federal agencies and public sector clients. Projects are located throughout New York State. The candidate will work under the direction of a professional engineer and would be given assignments of increasing complexity as experience is gained.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performing CADD drafting and introductory-level design of projects using MicroStation/InRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D software programs.
Preparing basic engineering calculations, including quantity estimates.
Providing checking-type review of plans, calculations, and reports prepared by others.
Contributing to the writing, typing, editing, and/or formatting of technical letters and reports.
Completing field assignments in support of design work, including making measurements, taking photographs, and checking for mapping accuracy.
Attending project meetings, including occasional evening meetings such as public information sessions.
Using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook programs effectively.
Attending training as directed and arranged by AECOM.
Assisting with AECOM Project Delivery System requirements by organizing, filing, distributing, and handling digital and paper project documents.
Completing all work in a reliable and professional manner.
