Job Description
This position is for a Sr. Electrical CAD Technician/ Sr. PCB Layout Technician who will work in the Electrical Engineering group, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Cadence or Mentor Graphics, and layout technologies.
Responsibilities will include the layout of new designs of electronics, starting from the bare board to completed fabrications, to prototypes, and release to production. These devices are highly complex and require precise layout and technical understanding of EMI implications.
Work includes; circuit design and analysis; PC board layout concept & requirements; mechanical design supervision and concept formulation; stress and reliability analysis of circuitry; component specification, de-rating and selection; cost analysis; library updates in Cadence and preparation of product documentation.
The individual will be responsible for the design of new products and the upgrading of existing products to reduce cost, add features, improve performance & reliability, and to incorporate embedded technology in those designs. Experience with Cadence is Required. Experience with SPICE and design software, circuit miniaturization, and high voltage technology are highly preferred.
This position requires strong communications skills (verbal and written), that are carried out in a timely manner, and that may include daily interaction with engineers at other Elbit Systems of America locations. The candidate may be required to prepare and maintain project schedules, and to supervise the activities of electronics technicians and interns. The individual will be expected to work in a hands-on manner.
