Joby Overview:

Located in Northern California, the team at Joby Aviation is driven by our goal of creating an affordable, all-electric air transportation system. Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

Overview:

We’re looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Manager to join our product team focusing on manufacturing systems. We are seeking an experienced quality engineer who is passionate about building something exciting and new and wants to help make quiet, emissions-free flight an everyday reality. As a senior product manager focused on manufacturing you will work closely with product, design, software engineers and a variety of manufacturing stakeholders and systems. You will be responsible for building out scaled aviation manufacturing on a level never before seen in aviation.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to own multiple features across ERP, MES, Quality and shop floor systems

This role is critical in delivering core features to ensure a successful build out of the Joby vehicle for market entry

Help shape direction, define product strategy and establish the best practices to address our users’ needs

Gather requirements, determine features, write product specs, refine feedback, help write test plans, manage the backlog, and ship quickly

Operate cross-functionally and build strong partnerships internally and externally

Required:

BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

Over 4 years of Product Management experience with manufacturing or internal company software

Tactical skills, a proven track record of shipping and supporting simple, elegant products at scale

Experience defining programs, processes, and using data and metrics to determine product improvements

Faced problems with high ambiguity and without a definitive answer

Desired:

Experience working in car manufacturing business systems

Have experience with project management

Experience with ticket tracking systems and preferably experience with Linear.

Have experience working closely with manufacturing teams

Experience with cloud & on-premise environments as well as application deployment and scaling technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, docker, Firebase

Are a pilot or have an interest in aviation and/or new transportation technology

Statistics show that under-represented groups, such as women and other minority groups, don’t apply to a job unless they meet 100% of the required qualifications. At Joby, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t match all requirements.  We believe that a successful workplace is diverse, equitable and inclusive. We value all perspectives, we celebrate diversity, and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.  If you are excited about this role, want to reinvent possible and contribute to the Joby mission; please apply anyway.
