Overview:
The Manager Environmental Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the environmental services department within the healthcare organization. This role plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and implementing best practices in environmental sanitation.
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements policies and procedures for environmental cleaning and sanitation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and infection control guidelines.
Manages and supervises a team of environmental services staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Conducts regular inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met and takes corrective actions as necessary.
Collaborates with other departments, such as infection control, facilities management, and nursing, to ensure effective communication and coordination of environmental services.
Monitors and manages the department budget, including tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing resource allocation.
Stays up to date on industry trends and best practices in environmental services, and implements improvements to enhance cleanliness, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Associates Degree
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Business Management
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 2 years, Healthcare Environmental Services
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Preferred: Professional certification (IEHA, CHESP)
