As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Senior Oracle DBA) you'll:

Setup and configure Oracle databases with advanced configurations such as Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard and Oracle ASM etc.

Assist in performance tuning of Oracle database application queries (SQL Query tuning) using both AWR reports and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

Perform database backup and recovery tasks and work on PROD to NON-PROD database refresh tasks.

Install, support and upgrade Oracle GoldenGate as well as support existing GoldenGate processes for database replication and integration.

Monitor database alert notifications, performance, server and database space utilization, backup jobs and take timely/preventive action before production issues are caused.

Participate in on-CALL DBA support rotation and provide after-hours DBA support for production databases during weekends or late nights (only when required).

Support application development teams in their production deployments.

Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) of production database issues and work towards long-term solutions.

Follow IT change management processes set in H-E-B.

Upgrade Oracle databases from 19c to 23ai using advanced options such as Oracle Multitenancy, Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard etc. with minimal downtime to applications.

Work with Oracle Support to resolve Oracle database and software issues. Log Oracle service requests and follow up for resolution of critical issues in a timely fashion.

Work with cross-functional team members belonging to IT Infrastructure, Information Security, Network, Storage etc. in articulating and convincing Oracle database and Oracle infrastructure requirements.

Prioritize resolving database and database server related security vulnerability findings in a timely fashion.

Who You Are:

You have at least 5 (five) years of work experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) with at least 2 (two) years preferably on Oracle databases hosted on Oracle Exadata machines.

Strong experience in Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle ASM and Oracle Golden Gate.

Strong experience in Oracle database performance tuning, Backup and Recovery and Oracle Data Pump export and import.

Strong experience in Oracle 19c with Oracle database multitenancy option (CDB/PDB).

Well experienced in Linux shell scripting and preferably in Python programming too in modifying existing database scripts and writing new scripts for automation.

Well experienced in installing and maintaining Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 13c servers and its agents.

Strong experience in Oracle SQL query tuning.

You are proactive and take responsibility and ownership for tasks and projects assigned and delegated by the DBA team manager.

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you are punctual in completing work in due time and in attending team meetings.

It’s a Plus if you have:

Database administration, support, and management Couchbase and Redis databases.

Database administration experience in at least one of the following PostgreSQL (or) MS SQL Server (or) MySQL.

Hands-on in using version control systems such as (url removed) and Atlassian Bitbucket server etc.

Patching Oracle Exadata hardware components such as InfiniBand switches, Storage cells and Oracle Linux operating system machines.

Prior work experience in public clouds such as AWS and GCP.

We Prefer:

Prior work experience in maintaining Oracle databases hosted in Oracle Exadata machines. (Exadata bare metal and/or Exadata Cloud at Customer a.k.a ExaCC)
