Responsibilities:

Assist in the service and management of Business Banking Loan clients having total potential exposure of up to $2,000,000.  Monitoring the existing Business Banking portfolio in identifying early warning risk factors that can indicate potential problems with a loan / borrower and / or within a specific industry.  Collaborating with Retail or Business Bankers to determine a course of action if deemed appropriate.   Underwrite and decision / approve existing loan facilities that trigger an action for renewal or review while remaining within the Bank’s loan policies and procedures to minimize potential risk exposure to the Bank. 

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible to identify and document early warning signs of potential loan deterioration while working within Baker Hill’s NextGen Portfolio Management System 

Determine course of action while working in conjunction with Retail or Business Bankers to alleviate or minimize risk or losses.  

Independently underwrite and decision / approve, within your lending authority, renewal requests on secured and unsecured  lines of credit, ballooning commercial mortgages and other credit structures to provide expeditious service to the client and minimize potential risk exposure to the Bank.  This is to be completed in a timely manner utilizing CBNA loan policies and procedures. 

Notify Retail and Business Bankers of upcoming maturity and or expiration of facilities, if deemed appropriate and no opportunity has been initiated in NG. Follow up to ensure appropriate action is taken. 

Make adjustments as necessary to risk rating on loans identified by the PRM platform and reviewed by Portfolio Underwriters in complaince with the  CBNA policy guidelines. 

Serve as a resource to assist and mentor Retail Managers.

Build and maintain positive communiction and professional relationships with  Business and Retail Bankers and all other CBNA personnel.

Within the parameters set in PRM, if a determination is made that material risk factors are being triggered on any type of loan, the Portfolio Underwriter will engage the Retail or Business Banker to determine if intervention is necessary. 

Assist in the initial development and continued enhancement of the Baker Hill NextGen Portfolio Monitoring system to achieve departmental goals. 

Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner

Ancillary Duties:

As an integral member of the Business Banking Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the  Business Banking Department and the Bank in achieving annual goals.   As necessary, assist in underwriting of new loans which includes evaluation of borrowers financial condition, cash flow, credit history among other criteria to make appropriate lending decision.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Requirements:

B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study (Finance, Management, Economics, or Accounting) or equivalent in experience with at least 6 accounting credits preferred specialized training or experience.

All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Skills:

Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills

Proficient interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)

A working knowledge of current lending and banking regulations, loan policies and procedures

Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and information; loan structuring skills.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Credit Analyst / Underwriter or Lender with proven track record or 4 years of relatable banking experience. 

Commercial lending, Baker Hill NextGen (NG) and or Portfolio Risk Management (PRM) experience is beneficial. 

Ideal candidate would have desire to work toward higher levels of responsibility and lending authority.

Min:

USD $64,000.00/Yr.

Max:

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
